Sir Rod Stewart’s guitarist Robin Le Mesurier has died aged 68. The musician, who also played with the likes of Johnny Hallyday, died yesterday following a battle with cancer, it has been reported.
Rod ended the post with an emoji of hands in prayer and the hashtag, “#robinlemesurier”.
Three years later, he signed with a record company associated with Rod and toured the US with the star as his opening act.
In 1994 he recorded two tracks for Johnny’s record Rough Town, becoming his musical director.
Six years ago, the guitarist joined the Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood and Rod for the Faces reunion.

Following the tragic news, the son of Beatles star John Lennon, Julian Lennon, also took to social media to pay his respects to the musician.
He told his 255,100 followers: “Heartbroken to hear of the Passing of My Dear Old friend, Robin Le Mesurier… Forever in our Hearts.
Rod Stewart was born on January 10, 1945.
He celebrated his 76th birthday in 2021.
Born Roderick David Stewart in Highgate, North London, Rod was the youngest of five children.
